IPAC is the leading international event for the worldwide accelerator community and industry. Attendees are presented with cutting-edge accelerator research and development results and gain the latest insights into accelerator facilities across the globe. The 13th edition of the conference, IPAC’22, will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on 12-17 June 2022. Over 1,000 delegates and 70 industry exhibits are expected to attend. This remarkable and noteworthy event is a unique opportunity to meet, interact and network with accelerator scientists, engineers, students and industrial vendors.

Thanks to a long-standing agreement between the Joint Universities Accelerator School (JUAS) and the conference organisers, each year the JUAS-IPAC award is attributed to the first-ranked student of the first of the school’s two courses, dedicated to the science of particle accelerators. The award takes the form of a bursary which covers conference fees, travel and accommodation.

Following two years during which the global public health situation gave organisers no choice but to switch to an on-line format, IPAC’22 marks a welcome return to face-to-face conferencing. And thanks to the organisers’ generosity, it is not one but two JUAS laureates who will be attending the conference in Bangkok: Pablo Martinez Reveriego, PhD student from Universitat de Valencia who was ranked best student at JUAS21, and his JUAS22 counterpart, Philipp Niedermayer, doing his PhD at Goethe Universität Frankfurt and GSI Darmstadt.

As well as following the state-of-the-art scientific programme, Pablo and Philipp will join director Elias Métral on the JUAS stand, where he will be able to count on these latest JUAS ambassadors to help him in promoting Europe’s leading particle accelerator school.
