A systems approach to understanding chronic disease

Summer school
(3 September → 11 September 2023)

Programme of the school in 2022

Welcome from the Director

Computational Medicine (CompMed) is an emerging multidisciplinary field. It aims to developing computational and personalized models of chronic diseases based on data collection from patients. CompMed applies a systems approach to the study of the mechanisms of chronic disease with the ultimate objective: application of the models in the treatment of chronic diseases and advance healthcare. Within the CompMed Summer School, theoretical and practical sessions delivered by a leading panel of international scientists, medical doctors and specialists in entrepreneurship and business creation. Beside the lectures, seminars and case studies, students will work on design-thinking workshops aimed at introducing students to the world of innovation and entrepreneurship.

CompMed Summer School brings together international students enrolled in various second-year Masters of Biohealth engineering and Biotechnology at the University Grenoble Alpes (France), University of Barcelona (Spain) and University Federico II of Naples (Italy).

About the school

The CompMed summer school brings together for the first-time international students enrolled in various tracks of the Université Grenoble-Alpes second-year Master degree in Health engineering.

Rather than taking the traditional syndrome approach, CompMed applies a systems approach to the study of the underlying mechanisms of chronic disease.

Theoretical and practical sessions delivered by leading specialists are followed up with design-thinking workshops aimed at introducing students to the world of innovation and entrepreneuriat.
